DREAMS IN NATURE
ARIA COE
My art aims to celebrate the beauty of the natural world. Growing up in the digital age, I have always been drawn to the patterns found in nature and the Earth’s past. I infuse my pieces with vivid colors and fantastical imagery that showcase the blending of the natural world portrayed in imaginative ways.
My inspiration comes from other artists as well as the world around me. Growing up, my greatest inspiration was science-fiction artist and family friend Michael Whelan (https://www.michaelwhelan.com/), whose work helped cement my passion for fantasy and storytelling in the visual arts.
As the vice president of the Danbury High chapter of the National Arts Honors Society, I seek to bring the visual arts to the greater community.

MOONLIGHT
HARRISON BECKENSTEIN
Over the last few months, I have experimented with aesthetic and artistic values through my works. I have begun finding a sense of ease and comfort with minimalistic attitudes and ideals. Since many of my prior pieces relied heavily upon color and form, this collection was almost a kind of exercise to veer away from the norm and work purely on the essential points of the painting. The desire to continue adding was always in the back of my head at first, but as I continued, I saw beauty in the simple nature of the works. Inspirations for this collection originate mainly from pale moonlight and its reflection on human forms, landscapes, and dreams. I believe that as a human race, we have always seen beauty in the purely visible and transparent. I tried to romanticize the darkness—the feeling of not quite knowing what you are seeing and the excitement that it brings. I sincerely hope that, as a viewer, you will be able to see the imperceptible aspects of these works and find beauty within their mystery.
