Harrison Beckenstein is a Connecticut-based contemporary artist whose
practice centers on painting and mixed media. Influenced by abstraction
and elements of Cubist structure and fragmentation, Beckenstein's work
examines the relationship between personal history and visual
expression, using texture, color, and layered mark-making to construct
complex psychological and emotional landscapes. Working primarily
with acrylic paint, he often incorporates oil pastel, marker, chalk, and
other layered materials. Beckenstein's work has been exhibited both
nationally and internationally, including exhibitions in Lisbon, Portugal;
Madrid, Spain; Miami, Florida; and New York City, as well as multiple
solo exhibitions in Connecticut. Through an interdisciplinary approach,
he continues to develop a distinctive visual language that invites
reflection on the fleeting moments and experiences that shape individual
identity and memory.
